What Rapper Owns Glo Gang?

If you’ve spent any time around drill music or seen that cartoon sun wearing sunglasses on a hoodie, you’ve run into Glo Gang. Here’s exactly who owns it and how it got started.

The Short Answer

Glo Gang is owned by Chicago rapper Chief Keef, born Keith Farrelle Cozart. He’s the founder, the face of the brand, and still its CEO today.

How It Started: Glory Boyz Entertainment

Before glogangg.com existed, there was Glory Boyz Entertainment (GBE). Chief Keef launched it in 2011 as part of his record deal with Interscope, after labels got into a bidding war to sign him following the explosion of his single “I Don’t Like.”

Ownership of GBE wasn’t just Keef’s. The original split looked like this:

  • Chief Keef — 40%
  • His manager, Rovan Manuel — 40%
  • The remaining 20% split between his cousin Fredo Santana, his uncle Alonzo Carter, and Anthony H. Dade

GBE signed a roster of Chicago drill artists, including Lil Reese, Fredo Santana, and producer Young Chop, and released Keef’s breakout debut album Finally Rich in December 2012.

The Rebrand: From GBE to Glo Gang

On January 3, 2014, Chief Keef announced that GBE was finished and that he was starting fresh under a new name: Glo Gang, short for “Glory Gang.” Despite the “shutdown” framing, it was really a rebrand—same core members, new identity.

The timing mattered. Keef was relocating to Los Angeles and shifting from the raw drill sound of his early mixtapes toward a more experimental, melodic direction (he started producing many of his own beats under the alias Sosa on the Beat). The new name reflected a fresh chapter, not a dead label.

How Glo Gang Became a Fashion Brand

This is the part most people actually search for—because glo gang hoodie isn’t just a record label anymore. It’s a full streetwear and lifestyle brand.

The transformation happened under creative director Casimir Spaulding (known as Colorful Mula), who designed Glo Gang’s now-iconic “Sun” logo—a yellow cartoon sun wearing white gloves and sunglasses, sipping from a cup. Spaulding has described the logo’s reach as comparable to the Wu-Tang Clan’s symbol, noting how many people have it tattooed despite having no direct connection to the collective.

Under Spaulding’s direction, Glo Gang expanded its merchandise into clothing, headwear, accessories, and even gaming under a sub-brand called Glo Navy. The label also picked up retail collaborations with brands like New Balance and Malbon over the years.

Glo Gang Today

Chief Keef still runs the show as CEO. In 2022, he launched a separate boutique imprint called 43B (Forget Everybody) in partnership with BMG, which focuses more narrowly on developing newer artists like Lil Gnar, while Glo Gang itself has leaned further into its identity as a heritage streetwear and lifestyle brand alongside its music roots.

So if you’re seeing the Sun logo on a hoodie, a track credit, or a tattoo—it all traces back to one person: Chief Keef.
